Despite a strong effort, the Ottawa 67’s suffered a tough 4-1 loss tonight to the Niagara IceDogs at the Arena at TD Place.

The 67’s trailed 2-0 after the opening period, but in the second period, the 67’s generated momentum on a pair of powerplay opportunities.

On the 67’s second powerplay of the game, Jeremiah Addison deflected a great shot by Nathan Todd and scored his 16th goal of the season. Niagara went on the powerplay late in the period, but the 67’s kept the OHL’s 5th ranked powerplay off the board. The game was at 2-1 after 40 minutes of play.

Niagara extended their lead in the third period with a pair of goals to win the game 4-1.

The 67’s generated 30 shots on net and many scoring chances and after the game GM/head coach Jeff Brown said “I was proud of my team tonight, they battled hard.”

Leo Lazarev played goal for the 67’s and made 33 saves.

The loss dropped Ottawa to 20-20-1-1 on the season

The 67’s are in action tomorrow evening in Peterborough for a 7 p.m game against the Petes. They return home on Sunday at 3 p.m. against the Flint Firebirds.
