Forward Sasha Chmelevski Named to Team Orr for 2017 Top Prospects Game

The Canadian Hockey League today announced the 40 players that will compete in the 2017 Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game at the Centre Vidéotron in Quebec City on Monday, January 30, 2017. Ottawa 67’s forward Sasha Chmelevski is among those top-40 prospects and will suit up for Team Orr.

“This is a heck of an opportunity for Sasha and one that he really deserves. We’re very proud of him,” said Associate Coach Mike Eastwood. “Sasha has worked tremendously hard since he was drafted into the OHL. He had a big summer with USA Hockey and he came into this season hitting the ground running.”

The 40 CHL players competing in the game were chosen by all 30 NHL clubs and divided into teams by NHL Central Scouting. This season’s event marks the 22nd annual showcase of the CHL’s top-40 NHL Draft eligible players featuring talent from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League, and Western Hockey League competing before hundreds of NHL scouts in attendance.

Chmelevski has tallied 14 goals and 11 assists this season and is among the OHL leaders in powerplay goals through 29 games.

The 67’s head into North Bay Thursday night for the start of three games in four nights all on the road. They return home to TD Place on Friday, December 30 with a 4:00 p.m. puck drop against the Oshawa Generals. The December 30 game is also Prospects Day celebrating minor hockey in our community with all minor hockey players getting in for free that are part of the Prospects Program.

Tickets for all Ottawa 67’s home games are available at Ottawa67s.com, calling 613.232.6767 X1, or in person at The Box Office at TD Place.
