Keating’s Hat-Trick Nets Him Second Star Honours

The Ottawa 67’s couldn’t have scripted the home opener of their 50th anniversary season much better Sunday night at the Arena at TD Place. A convincing 6-4 win over the reigning OHL Champions, Erie Otters, on the shoulders of an Austen Keating hat-trick – the fourth of his career sending the veteran forward over the 100-point plateau for his OHL career.

On Monday, Keating was named the OHL second start for his four-point performance that included a pair of power-plays and the 67’s first shorthanded goal of the young season.

Keating will look to keep the scoring streak going this weekend when the 67’s head south of the border for one of their longest road trips of the season with stops in Saginaw (Sept. 29 @ 7 p.m.) and Flint (Sept. 30 @ 7 p.m.) before returning to Canada to face the Sarnia Sting to open the month of October (Oct. 1 @ 2 p.m.). The 67’s return home Thanksgiving Weekend with games against Peterborough (Oct. 6) and Flint (Oct. 8).
