Higgins increased responsibilities with the team are to include the scouting and drafting of import and American born players. He will also be more involved with the day -to-day management and operation of the team assisting General Manager Chris Byrne.

“Pat has been with our team for many years and has always done more than was expected of him,” said GM Chris Byrne. “The promotion today increases his responsibilities with the team, but more importantly,  recognizes the many contributions that he has made over the years.  I look forward to having Pat working more closely with our team.”

Higgins said of the promotion, “I really appreciate the trust put in me by both Jeff Hunt and Chris Byrne and want to thank Brian Kilrea as he has taught me so much about the game over the last 20 years.  I am really excited about having more time to spend working with the team and to be able to help in any way with our goal of winning the Memorial Cup.”
