3 Players to Watch | Barrie at Ottawa

The 67’s will be retiring Brian Campbell’s No. 44 jersey Friday night at the Arena at TD Place. Brian will become only the fourth player in franchise history to receive the honour. Although the pre-game ceremonies are bound to be memorable, the talent on the ice is certainly something you don’t want to miss. Here are three players to watch this Friday.

  1. Travis Barron

The 67’s captain and Colorado Avalanche prospect (2016 – round 7, #191) is set to play in his 200th game for the Barber Poles. The lifelong 67 was selected by the team with the 3rd overall pick in the OHL Priority Selection. The 19-year old is currently performing at his highest point production, averaging nearly a point per game with 12 points in 15 contests.

  1. Sasha Chmelevski

The San Jose Sharks prospect (2017 – round 6, #185) and Team USA World Juniors hopeful is currently leading the team in goals and tie for the lead in points. After last weekend’s four goal showing which included a hat trick at home, Chmelevski loves putting a show on for the home town crowd and is certainly someone who has the potential to do it again this Friday.

  1. Andre Svechnikov

The first overall pick in this year’s OHL Import Draft has been ripping up the league since his arrival. The OHL rookie is averaging more than a point per game and currently has 10 goals in as many games. The projected top-3 pick in this year’s NHL Draft is dangerous on the wing for the Colts and definitely a player you should keep your eye on.
