Three Players to Watch this Weekend

The Ottawa 67’s host the Oshawa Generals this Saturday in front of a national TV audience. Here’s who you should keep an eye on if you’re coming to The Arena at TD Place or watching the game from home!

Lucas Chiodo – Ottawa 67’s

Since being acquired by the Ottawa 67’s in early January there have only been four games that Lucas has not registered a point. In 22 games played with the Barber Poles, Chiodo is over a point per game, with 12 goals and 13 assists for a total of 25 points. Friday will be Lucas’ 250th career game which is an impressive feat especially when you consider he was taken in the 15th round, 293rd overall. Over the course of his career, he’s been an almost point per game player with 217 points with the Barrie Colts and 67’s. Not the most imposing player at 5’6″, but Lucas is not a player that should be taken lightly. A veteran of this league, Chiodo is definitely one to watch this weekend.

Noel Hoefenmayer – Ottawa 67’s

A top 5 scoring denfeceman, Noel Hoefenmayer is having himself a career season. The Arizona Coyotes prospect (2017, Round 4, 108) is currently on a pace of nearly a point per game with 16 goals and 42 assists for 58 points in 62 games. Noel comes into the weekend hot with five points in his last three games. Hoef’s a difference maker when he’s on the ice, you can see this with his career high +38, good enough top 10 in the league and top 3 three among defenceman (behind 67’s teammates Kevin Bahl and Merrick Rippon). Noel is a force in both the offense and defensive ends and definitely a player to keep an eye on.

Serron Noel – Oshawa Generals

This Ottawa native will be going against his hometown team this weekend. Son of former CFL player Dean Noel, Serron comes from a family of elite athletes. The Florida Panthers prospect (2018, Round 2, 34) is tough to miss on the ice at 6’5″. Things are looking good for the winger who has set career highs in goals, assists, and points with six games to go, Noel is scoring a more than a point per game clip with 32 goals, and 43 assists in 62 games played.

These are just a few of the many talented players you’ll have the opportunity to see this Saturday. Get your tickets now so you don’t miss out.
