Nominate a volunteer for the Brian Kilrea Award
|
In 2003, in recognition of Brian Kilrea’s 1000th career victory, the City of Ottawa created the Brian Kilrea Award to highlight the contribution of an amateur coach who best exemplifies the qualities of leadership and commitment that have been the hallmarks of Brian Kilrea's career.
The Brian Kilrea Award is presented as part of the City of Ottawa’s Civic Appreciation Awards that recognize the over 225,000 volunteers who dedicate their time and expertise to make Ottawa a better place to live. Volunteers have a direct impact on many aspects of our day-to-day life, including health, heritage, education, social services, arts and culture, sports and recreation, protective services, literacy services and the environment.
Let us know about that special coach who has made a difference in your community and whose volunteer efforts should be recognized. You can tell us about that special person by completing a nomination form online at ottawa.ca/volunteering or by picking up a brochure at one of the City’s Client Service Centres, branches of the Ottawa Public Library or community centres. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 26, 2010 at 4 p.m.

En 2003, en reconnaissance des 1 000 victoires en carrière de Brian Kilrea, la Ville d’Ottawa a créé le Prix Brian-Kilrea afin de souligner la contribution d’un entraîneur amateur qui illustre au mieux les qualités de meneur et d’engagement ayant marqué la carrière de Brian Kilrea.
Le Prix Brian-Kilrea est attribué à l’occasion des Prix du mérite civique de la Ville d’Ottawa, qui visent à reconnaître les efforts de plus de 225 000 bénévoles qui consacrent temps et expérience pour faire d’Ottawa un meilleur endroit où vivre. Les bénévoles ont un impact direct sur un grand nombre d’aspects de notre quotidien, notamment dans les domaines de la santé, du patrimoine, de l’éducation, des services sociaux, des arts et de la culture, des sports et des loisirs, des services de protection, de l’alphabétisation et de l’environnement.
Faites-nous connaître le nom d’un entraîneur hors du commun qui a fait une différence dans votre quartier et dont les efforts comme bénévole devraient être reconnus. Vous pouvez nous décrire cette personne en remplissant un formulaire de mise en candidature en ligne, à l’adresse ottawa.ca/benevolat, ou en récupérant une brochure dans un centre du service à la clientèle, dans une succursale de la Bibliothèque publique d’Ottawa ou dans un centre communautaire de la ville. La date limite de mise en candidature est fixée au vendredi 26 mars 2010 à 16 h.
