Weekend Recap

Sault Ste. Marie on Friday

The Ottawa 67’s made it to overtime against the high-flying Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, but eventually fell 4-3 Friday night at TD Place to break an impressive home winning streak.

The 67’s began the year with six consecutive victories on home ice and nearly had a seventh if not for a tying goal by the Greyhounds in the final period of regulation and an overtime marker by Darnell Nurse in the last minute.

Kingston Frontenacs on Saturday

Tied 4-4 early in the third, Ottawa got goals from Erik BradfordJeremiah Addison andTaylor Davis to take control.

Tyler Hill scored twice for Ottawa, which improved to 10-8-1-1 on the season, leaping past Kingston for third spot in the OHL East Division standings.

Ottawa is also undefeated in regulation in eight straight to begin the 2014-15 campaign. The only blemish on an otherwise spotless home record came on Friday night when the 67’s lost 4-3  in overtime at TD Place to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in an entertaining match in front of nearly 5,000 spectators.

Kids Club Holiday Party on Sunday

It was a great turn out for the Big Joe and friends Holiday Party at Midway Family Fun Park on Sunday.

Local radio giant Majic 100 broadcast live from the event with players, mascots and cheerleaders from the Ottawa REDBLACKS, Ottawa Fury FC and the Ottawa 67’s on hand to meet the kids, sign autographs and have some fun.

Parents also had the opportunity to purchase an Ottawa 67’s Kids Pass which includes a ticket for every game in 2015 – 17 games total – for the affordable price of $15. That’s less than $1 a game!
