67’s blanked in North Bay

The Ottawa 67’s were unable to get back in the win column on Thursday night, falling 5-0 on the road to the North Bay Battalion.

The Battalion struck early, on a Kyle Jackson marker with less than five minutes to play in the opening frame. Despite a Ty Nelson goal being waved off due to a hand pass, North Bay went up 2-0 just 53 seconds into the middle period, on Jackson’s second of the night.

Nikita Tarasevich put the Troops up 3-0 at the 2:21 mark, and Owen Van Steensel added another early in the third, paving the way to a 4-0 win for the Troops.

Anthony Romani added insult to injury in the third, and the 67’s lost consecutive games for the first time this season.

Ottawa will look to get back on track, Saturday night, in a tilt with the Peterborough Petes.
