We’re proud to team up with Hockey Gives Blood in support of Canadian Blood Services and highlight the importance of blood donation.
Half of all Canadians will either need blood or know someone who will need blood at some point in their lives. Blood and blood products are a critical part of everyday medical care, including major surgeries, medical procedures, cancer treatments, and managing diseases or disorders.
Each year, 100,000 new donors are needed to ensure there is a healthy inventory of blood and blood products available to patients where and when they need them. Hockey Gives Blood is committed to making a positive difference to the health and well-being of communities across Canada by rallying teams, players, and fans to donate blood.
On March 11th, Hockey Gives Blood Ambassador and Ottawa 67’s Goaltender, Cedrick Andree along with other players and coaches held a Blood Drive. You can still join the Ottawa 67’s by booking your appointment to save a life at blood.ca/HGB, on the GiveBlood app or call 1 888 2 DONATE. Donating blood is one of the most generous things you can do for someone in need, especially during a pandemic. *by appointment only
On March 11th, Ottawa 67’s players and coaches teamed up with Hockey Gives Blood and held a Blood Drive at the Canadian Blood Services Ottawa Donor Centre on Carling Avenue
Now more than ever blood donations are needed, we were happy to do our part and bring awareness to these initiatives. Thank you to the staff at the Carling location who helped out our players and coaches yesterday to make them feel welcome and comfortable during the process.
