On Tuesday, Hockey Canada announced their list of 194 players invited to their Summer Showcase. The evaluation camps will run from July 29 – August 6 in Calgary at the Markin MacPhail Centre at WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park.

This year marks the first time Canada’s National Junior Team Sport Chek Summer Development Camp, National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team Selection Camp, and Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-17 Team Development Camp will be together in the same city at the same time.

77 OHL players were among the invitees and four Ottawa 67’s players made the cut. Travis Konecny, Travis Barron, Austen Keating, and Noel Hoefenmayer will all don the red and white as they demonstrate their skills for Hockey Canada.

Captain Konecny is one of 40 players attending Canada’s National Junior Team Sport Chek Summer Development Camp. If he makes the squad, Travis should be a key contributor on Team Canada. He captained the nation’s U18 team last year and led them to a gold medal at the Ivan Hlinka Tournament.

The other Travis, Barron, hopes to replicate the success that Konecny enjoyed at the Ivan Hlinka Tournament. He is one of 43 players fighting for a spot on Canada’s National Men’s Under-18 Team. The OHL rookie will be joined in Calgary by 67’s GM and head coach Jeff Brown’s son, Logan.

Ottawa’s two top picks from the 2015 OHL Priority Selection, Austen Keating and Noel Hoefenmayer, were among the 111 players invited to Canada’s National Under-17 Development Camp. The duo should gain some great experience before they start they first OHL season.
