Shane Prince scored two goals and set up two more as the Ottawa 67’s defeated the Erie Otters 6-3 in an Ontario Hockey League game at Erie, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night.
Prince scored a short-handed goal late in the second period to give the 67’s (5-3-0) a 4-2 lead, and he scored an insurance goal into an empty net in the final minute of the third period to clinch the victory.
Ryan Martindale also scored a short-handed goal for Ottawa, which received its other goals from Jon Carnevale, captain Thomas Nesbitt and Cody Lindsay.
Mac McDonnell, Tyler Hostetter and Luke Cairns scored for the Otters, who were 2-for-7 on the power play, but also yielded the two short-handed goals.
67’s netminder Petr Mrazek stopped 21 of 24 shots, while the Otters’ Ramis Sadikov blocked 16 of 21 shots.
Ottawa, which was 0-for-3 on the power play on Saturday night, ends its weekend road trip with today’s game with the Brampton Battalion.
